So I just wanted to put a little post in- I just finished my first semester of the MFA program. It went fabulously and I’m super excited for summer/fall residency coming up! I finally got a good basis for a novel I’m working on, and I’m going to be doing some road tripping to do a deep dive into the area and it’s history. I’m a huge history buff and I love going through the archives, so it’ll be fun. Something I think I’m going to do as a writer is really research my settings and time periods etc when i write, so that my stories are relatively accurate while maintaining the boundaries of fiction. It also sates the little academic bug in my head that wants to deep study things and have that little routine!
